Portrait of a European gentleman. The date and artist are unknown. A record from the previous owner indicates that the piece was purchased at an antique store in Leonforte, Sicily in 1982. It passed to another owed in 2003.

Oil on wood. The painting has clearly darkened with age and therefore needs much light. The wood has a straight vertical crack that has been repaired on the back. A horizontal strip of wood has been attached to the bottom right of the painting to bring it square with the bottom left.
