PAUL CHESLEY - FLAMINGOS AT GALAPAGOS
Masterful photograph by acclaimed National Geographic photographer Paul Chesley. Flamingos take off from a lagoon at Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Their blurry ascent makes an immediate impact on the viewer: one simply must look again, and more closely.
This image has been behind glass and framed but upon a recent inspection the glass broke. Pulling back the matting reveals a black border to the photograph at top and bottom. The photo has no evident color loss. The main body of the photo is the same color as the left and right edges which have been covered by the matting. The image remains mounted and matted and will be sold that way.
Image 13.5” x 19.5”. Matting 20” x 24”.
According to an email from Mr. Chesley, he printed a run of "25 or so" of this photograph. This print is signed by Chesley in the lower right corner.
